Inevitably, moving into the High Holidays season, it's a good time to tune ourselves to ourselves, to look within. This daylong meditation retreat will feature silent sitting and walking meditation, Jewish chanting, and talks by and discussion with Norman Fischer based on his new book, The World Could Be Otherwise: Imagination and the Bodhisattva Path. (Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing at the retreat).
Although the book is based on Buddhist concepts, Norman is also a seasoned teacher of Jewish meditation and will focus the material on the Jewish practice of Tikkun Olam, repairing the world. What would it mean for us to have a change of heart, a change of attitude, so that we would be “priests among the nations?” This is the question before us, in our time. No experience in meditation necessary, and all are welcome.
Registration Fee: (including vegetarian lunch) $85
Early-Bird Registration (By September 1, 5 PM) $75
